The Hyundai Motor India Ltd is all set to launch a new-gen Tucson. It will compete with the likes of Jeep Compass and Citroen C5 Aircross. The new SUV has now received a perfect 5-star rating on the latest Euro NCAP safety test. It comes with advanced safety features like autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, driver alert system, and more. Let’s take a closer look!

As part of the Euro NCAP safety tests, the new Hyundai Tucson’s passenger compartment was found to be stable in the offset crash test. The mid-size SUV scored 12.4 points out of the maximum 16 points. In terms of pedestrian safety, the new-gen Hyundai Tucson received 36.1 points out of 54 points. The test variant (GLS trim) was powered by a 1.6-liter GDI turbocharged petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. It will also be available with a plug-in hybrid 1.6-liter engine.

In India, the new Hyundai Tucson is more likely to come with 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol (154bhp of peak power and 192Nm of peak torque) and diesel (184bhp of peak power and 417Nm of peak torque) powertrain in India. Both engines are likely to be paired with a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options. The fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson comes with a long wheelbase resulting in better legroom and a luxurious feel.

Overall, the SUV has a sporty aura. The new front fascia features cascading front grille with integrated LED DRLs. You also get full-width LED tail lamps on the back, cockpit-style partitioning, a digital driver’s display, and a large touchscreen infotainment unit. Additionally, the upcoming car will come with ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, multi-color ambient lighting, wireless charging, electrical seat adjustments, auto climate control, and rear AC vents. The company has also added auto headlamps, auto wipers, and auto Day/Night mirrors. The premium SUV also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
