That’s not all the upgrades that the new Hyundai i20 will get. The new 1.0 Litre Turbo-petrol engine that debuted on the Venue is likely to make its way on the hatchback. This would come as a competition to Baleno, which also has the RS variant with a 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol unit.
Additionally, the i20 will continue with the 1.2 Litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1.4 Litre diesel engine. The turbo petrol engine produces 120 BHP and 172 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine puts out 89 BHP and 220 Nm.
It is likely to get the same 7-speed DCT with the turbo-petrol engine. The petrol engine will get the 5-speed manual gearbox and the diesel with the 6-speed MT.

WIth the new features and BS-6 compliant engine, the prices of the hatchback will increase. It will continue to rival the likes of Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and the upcoming Tata Altroz.
