The all-new Honda Amaze now comes with a completely restyled exterior design. The compact sedan looks a lot mature and premium than the outgoing model. The compact sedan gets a thick chrome bar on the grille while the fog-lamp housing is also surrounded by chrome accents. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire’s design, on the other hand, is more towards the premium side. It flaunts curvaceous aesthetics which are bound to appeal to Indian buyers. The front gets swept-back headlamps with LED DRL, a big hexagonal grille, and an angular bonnet. Furthermore, it also employs a significant use of chrome, giving the car an up-market feel. The curvaceous design continues on the side profile as well with Baleno resembling panels. Unlike the previous generation models of this car’s 2018 model does not look awkward from the rear. The boot blends perfectly with the sloping roofline. The tail-lamps feature LED lamps while the boot-lid gets a chrome strip cross it’s length.

The Honda Amaze gets a completely revised cabin with this 2018 generation update. The dashboard layout is unique to this compact sedan and not borrowed from any other Honda product. Also, the infotainment system is the same Digipad which we saw in the Honda City and the WR-V. The upholstery is beige and black, lending the compact sedan an up-market feel. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire’s interior is an equally nice place to be in. With the 2018 generation update, this sedan offers a flat bottom steering wheel. The instrument cluster accommodates two large dials with a TFT information display borrowed from the Baleno. Furthermore, the infotainment system in this compact sedan is the same Smartplay system which we currently see on the Baleno, Brezza and Ignis. The air-con vents are quite angular. The dashboard flaunts faux-wood inserts, adding a certain premium flair to the compact sedan’s cabin. The upholstery is dual tone with beige and black colour theme. The rear bench gets a centre armrest. An additional feature in this sedan is that it comes with separate air-con vents for the rear-passengers.

The new Honda Amaze is expected to continue offering the same engine line-up with the 2018 update. The petrol derivative will get the i-VTEC petrol engine producing 86.7 BHP along with 109Nm of peak torque. The diesel derivative, on the other hand, will get the i-DTEC motor which is good for 98.6 BHP along with 200 NM of peak torque. Both the engines are going to be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Dzire’s petrol derivative comes with the tried and tested K Series VVT engine. This motor is capable of producing 82Bhp along with 113NM of peak torque. The oil burner in the 2018 iteration of this compact sedan gets the age-old DDiS unit. This engine produces 74 BHP along with 190 NM of peak torque. Both the engine are available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Unlike the Amaze, this car additionally also gets a 5-speed AMT unit with both configurations.

Currently, the kerb weight of the new Honda Amaze is not known as Honda is yet to reveal the same.
