The upcoming Honda Amaze will be launched in India in the coming weeks in its 4th-generation avatar
The new Honda Amaze was partially visible in the latest design sketches released by the Japanese carmaker. It has become a common practice for car companies to tease an upcoming model with official design sketches. It allows the viewers to gain insights into the conceptualization of a new car from the design board to the flesh. Needless to say, it also creates a buzz online about the new vehicles. Very often, we are able to get an idea about the kind of specific features of a new car. This is one such instance. Let us take a look at the details here.
New Honda Amaze To Get ADAS
The internet is full of teased images and design sketches of the new Honda Amaze. While we got a glimpse of what the exterior would look like, the interior amenities are much more exciting. Apart from the regular dashboard layout, a floating touchscreen infotainment display, and dual-tone cabin theme, the one feature that caught everyone’s eye was the Lane Keep Assist symbol on the semi-digital driver’s instrument cluster. This is a common function of the ADAS active safety suite. Also, this is something the City also gets with Honda SENSING technology. If this is the case, it will be the first vehicle in this segment to offer ADAS.
In terms of the specifications, I believe the new Honda Amaze will continue to get the same engine and transmission options as the previous-gen model. This implies a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol mill which churns out a decent 90 PS and 110 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine will pair with a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic. Hence, the needs of all sorts of buyers will be taken care of. Also, the power is higher than the new Dzire while the torque is slightly lower. In any case, more details will emerge with time.

My View
The compact sedan segment is heating up at the moment. The new Dzire has caused a huge stir in this category. It was already the highest-selling sedan in the country. With its updated aesthetics, features list and safety rating, it will definitely fetch even more customers. Hence, Honda needs to put its best foot forward if it wants to rival the new Dzire with the Amaze. The other relevant vehicles in this section are the Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor, both of which are due for an update as well.
