Honda Activa is set to get a major update by early next year. It will use a new platform with more features, but the same 110cc engine.
As the April 2020 deadline for BS-6 models is nearing, automotive brands are getting ready for introducing their updated models. Amidst this, the most popular scooter of India is also getting revamped.
In an interview to AutocarPro, YS Guleria, VP of HMSI, has confirmed that Honda Activa will get major updates along with the BS-6 engine. Not only that, the manufacturer will revamp almost every two-wheeler in its lineup.
The primary changes on the updated two-wheelers will include a new frame and chassis. Finally, the new Activa will look something different from the current-gen. It is expected to be launched by early 2020.

Along with this, Honda Activa will receive the latest features to make it more connected. The features will be similar to what come on TVS Ntorq, like its segment-first instrument console with Bluetooth connection and navigation.
It will continue with the same 110cc HET engine, that delivers 8 BHP and 9 Nm of torque. The new Activa will use a fuel-injected engine, which will help it making through BS-6 compliance.
Reports further suggest that there will be subtle changes to the scooter, enough to differentiate it from the earlier generation. However, do not expect it to look something different altogether.
A couple of weeks back, a spy shot of a fully camouflaged Honda scooter was leaked. Reports suggested that it was the Honda Activa 6G. The spotted test mule gets telescopic forks at the front, replacing the unit-linked setup.

There are chances that the upcoming Activa might look similar to the 125cc version of the scooter. It definitely looks a bit better than the regular Activa.
With the introduction of features and styling upgrades, we expect the sales of the scooter as well as the brand to increase swiftly. Activa is the best selling scooter in India for the past few years.
