To commemorate 25 years of Hero Splendor brand name, the manufacturer has introduced a new Special Edition of the legendary workhorse.
Back in the mid-90s, Hero collaborated with Honda to launch some two-wheelers in India. One of their outcomes was the Splendor, which is still the most popular and best selling motorcycle in India.
Long before Hero and Honda split up, the Splendor brand name still stayed strong. Now it is available in many different trims like Splendor Pro, Plus, i3S and much more.
After completing its 25 years in India, Hero Splendor is set to receive a Special Edition. While we wait for an official release from the manufacturer, its photos have been leaked online.

The Hero Splendor Special Edition gets minor cosmetic changes, mainly a new paint job and graphics. New yellow and red graphics are seen on the fuel tank and battery box over the black colour.
Further, it gets a ’25 years Special Edition’ badging on the front, black alloy wheels and USB Charger. Other than that there are no changes onboard.
Splendor Special Edition continues with the same 97.2cc engine, that delivers 8.3 BHP and 8.05 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a simple 4-speed gearbox.

It also continues with the same twin-pod analogue instrument console, which houses a side stand indicator, speedometer, fuel meter, trip meter and i3S indicator as well. Splendor was the first one to use the Idle Stop-Start System.
Suspension is handled by telescopic forks at the front and Swing Arm with 5 Step Adjustable Shock Absorber at the back. For braking, Splendor comes with 130mm drum brakes at both the ends with IBS as standard.
Hero Splendor Special Edition is priced at Rs 56,600 (ex-showroom Delhi), getting costlier than the top-spec variant by Rs 2,000. It still faces no serious competition from any commuter in its price range.
