Ahead of the official launch on May 9, the entry-level LXI trim of the 2024 Maruti Swift was recently seen at a dealership stockyard
A day after the new generation 2024 Maruti Swift was seen sans camouflage, the LXI base trim of the new car has been caught at a dealership stockyard. The entry-level variant gets steel wheels, black-coloured door handles and ORVMs, and body-coloured pillars. However, the highlight here is the projector headlamps with LED DRLs – please note that the LXI trim of the current Swift gets regular headlamps.

The first-ever pictures reveal some interesting details of the hatchback. The front-end gets rather upmarket projector headlamps with LED DRLs. However, the fog lamps are conspicuous by their absence. Moving to the side profile, you’ll notice the steelies. The bare-basic look continues courtesy non-painted ORVMs and door handles. Even the pillars don’t get the black cladding. This is much like what you get on the base version of the current model. The rear misses out on a roof-top antennae and spoiler. There’s no rear wash/wipe either. However, the car gets LED taillamps.
Details of the interior aren’t available at the moment. However, going by the features list of the current version, safely expect to get a electrically-adjustable ORVMs, Day/Night Adjustable IRVM, adjustable steering and electric windows. The safety equipment will include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, and Brake Assist.

New Engine that Delivers Higher Mileage
The K-Series 1.2-litre engine that’s been available on the Swift for the last three generations will make way for a new Z-Series motor. The 1.2-litre unit boasts three cylinders and mild hybrid tech. It outputs 82 PS and 112 Nm. This is down from the 90 PS and 113 Nm of the current engine. Details of the automatic transmission aren’t available as of now. However, the 5-speed manual ‘box will continue. A highlight here, though, is the better mileage. While the current model offers 22.38 kmpl, the new car will offer a whopping 25.72 kmpl. This will make the new Swift one of the most fuel-efficient cars on sale in the country.
