Unveiled last year, the new-gen KTM RC390 enjoys a higher street presence than its predecessor but the version seen below looks even cooler
The next-gen KTM RC390 looks ready to enter the Indian market. The new generation model brings in a revised design along with many new features. It also gets an updated motor that delivers slightly more punch. The RC390 has been the go-to fully-faired motorcycle for performance junkies and track specialists, and, now, it looks like the next version is ready to be lapped by the buyers. However, today, we’ve stumbled upon a couple of renderings that have shown the motorcycle in a sleeker format.

Work of @abin_designs_511 on Instagram, these concepts of the KTM RC390 look decidedly sportier than the actual bike. Among the biggest revisions come in the form of a reworked front-fairing that houses a bigger windscreen that should not just aid aerodynamics but even help the rider protect himself from wind blasts at high speed. Also, the signature orange shade for the trellis frame has been painted in a different shade in one of the two versions, which goes well with the black paint job. Other than this, it looks like the rendering artist has got rid of the side-mounted exhaust and gone for an underbelly unit in one of the two renderings. The other show the bike having an underseat Akrapovic. Finally, even the tailpiece looks a bit beefed up. Overall, the remastered RC390 manages to look more eye-catching than the actual version that’s headed our way.
Speaking of the upcoming motorcycle’s visual appeal, well, KTM has said that with the new model, it has aimed to offer a big bike look for a higher street presence as well as better wind protection. It has also improved the heat management system of the vehicle, while the fuel tank, at 13.7-litre, is bigger than before. This addresses a big issue with the outgoing motorcycle.

New-Gen KTM RC390 Specs, Launch Date
Talking about the specifications, the next-gen KTM RC390 continues to offer a maximum power of 43.5hp, while the peak torque, at 37Nm, is 2Nm more than before. The higher torque is courtesy a new airbox and the updated engine mapping. Even the exhaust system has changed and carries a stainless-steel header pipe and an aluminium end-can. All said and done, it definitely remains to be seen if the Indian version would retain all the specs and the features of the international model. Also, a confirmed launch date is yet to be announced but in all likelihood, the bike should be here within a few weeks’ time.
