The Seltos is one of the most successful mid-size SUVs in the country and is ready for an update
The new-gen Kia Seltos has been spotted testing on multiple occasions now as we brace for the launch in the coming months. Seltos has been one of the most successful products from the Korean auto giant in our country ever since Kia commenced operations back in 2019. Along with the Hyundai Creta, the Seltos has taken the market by storm. They have dominated this segment for the longest time. Part of the reason for its immense success has been its looks, the availability of the latest and convenience amenities and multiple powertrain options. For now, let us take a look at the details of the upcoming new-gen version.
New-Gen Kia Seltos Spied
This video stems from Healer TV on YouTube. The visuals capture the mid-size SUV wrapped in a heavy camouflage, perhaps in its home market. Despite the covering, its unique LED headlamps are visible clearly. It contains new LED DRLs with vertical alignment which is completely different to the horizontal setup we see in the existing model. Apart from that, the side section showcases the dual-tone aero alloy wheels like we see on other Kia EVs on sale in the international markets. The side section remains almost the same, while the rear profile is totally hidden under the black camouflage.
We know that Kia always offers the best tech and convenience amenities on all its cars. In fact, they are often the best-equipped vehicles in their respective segments. I am certain that it will continue to be the case with the new Seltos too. At present, the list of amenities is rather long including Two 10.25-inch Panoramic Dual Displays for Infotainment and Driverโs Instrument Cluster, 19 autonomous ADAS Level 2 Features, Voice-controlled Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof, Ventilated Front Seats with 8-way Powered Adjustment, 8-Speaker Premium Bose Sound System, AI Voice Recognition System, 8-inch Head-Up Display and more.
Specs
While it is almost definite that it will carry on with the existing set of powertrains and transmissions even with the next-gen version, some reports online even suggest that it could get a 1.6-litre strong hybrid petrol engine. We see that carmakers are offering hybrid variants of their cars for those customers who want high fuel efficiency from their vehicles. Hence, it remains to be seen whether or not this will be the case. In the case of a strong hybrid mill, the prices will go up significantly. Let us keep an eye out for more details in times to come.
