New Visuals of Ford Everest and Ranger on Indian Turf
The buzz around Ford India’s return is gaining momentum. The rumours of the comeback started with leaked patent images surfacing online. These drawings reveal Ford has secured trademarks for the new Everest and a mid-size SUV. Soon, we even came across fresh job listings from the carmaker’s local subsidiary. Next, there were talks of Ford and Tata contemplating a JV to help the former restart operations. Of course, the recent spy media, showing the latest-gen Everest and Ranger on Indian turf, have been a huge catalyst for the growing speculations.
While nothing’s official yet, there are talks of Ford bringing the new Endeavour and Ranger to our market via CBU route. Additionally, the carmaker has even filed a patent for a mid-size SUV to help it compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta. Additionally, Ford might launch the Mustang Mach-E as a halo product. Author’s Note
Even though there are huge rumours of Ford India planning a comeback, we’re yet to have any sort of official confirmation from the carmaker. Frankly, the import of the new Endeavour and the Ranger doesn’t exactly hint at an imminent launch plan. Still, though, even if the company may be contemplating a comeback, it will have to formulate a strong strategy to ensure a successful third innings in India. For the uninitiated, the carmaker incurred losses amounting to $2 billion during its previous stint.
