Ford enthusiasts might finally get the news they were all so desperately waiting for as the 2023 Endeavour is seen in India.
Ford Endeavour might make a comeback in India via the CBU route. The American carmaker quit manufacturing cars in India in September last year (2021). That was due to extensive losses in our market for decades. However, some of its products had a massive fan following like the EcoSport and Endeavour. Ford loyalists were distraught to hear that the American auto giant has pulled the plug on its India operations. Recently, we got to know that the carmaker is planning to resume its sales operation with CBU routes in 2023. In line with this, a video that went viral earlier today showed a batch of new-gen Ford Endeavour being transported on a goods train. The topography looked typically Indian. However, as it turns out, this video is from Cambodia, which imports the Endy from Thailand. The imported units are then transported to different parts of the country using trains.

Ford Endeavour Back in India?
The short video clip shows the SUVs being transported by a train. While more details are not available, it is most likely somewhere in India. The front fascia of the SUVs is distinctly visible. It is the same as the international model that we have seen Ford launch in many markets recently. Ford had made it clear that they were not leaving the market completely as they will continue to operate as a niche player with imported products. The 2023 Endeavour could well be a part of this strategy.

The latest iteration of the SUV is already available in various international markets. It comes with a ton of chrome garnish at various places, including the massive grille. Then, there are C-shaped LED DRLs and LED headlights, the cornering fog lamps are positioned on the bumper, and the bumper and skid plate lend a rugged appearance to the SUV. On the sides, there are massive 20-inch alloys, chrome surrounding the window frame, prominent wheel arches and side steps for enhanced ingress and egress. At the rear, the split-LED taillamps are connected by a glass panel which reads ‘Everest’. All in all, the new Endy looks butch.

Specs
In the Thai market, the new Endeavour comes with the option of either a 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel engine that produces 170 PS and 405 Nm or a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel that makes a mammoth 210 PS and 500 Nm of peak power and torque. The former comes mated to a 6-speed automatic, while the latter comes with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. It could feature either of these engines but will definitely come with the 4×4 drivetrain. Being a CBU unit, don’t expect it to be anything under Rs 50 lakh.
