New Force Gurkha vs Mahindra Thar – Specs Comparison
The table below summarizes the specs comparison between the two off-roading SUVs.
Force Gurkha | Mahindra Thar | |
Engine | 2.6-litre diesel | 2.0-litre turbo petrol; 2.2-litre diesel |
Transmission | 5-speed Manual | 6-speed manual; Automatic |
Power | 91 hp | 150 hp (Petrol); 130 hp (Diesel) |
Torque | 250 Nm | 300 Nm (Petrol); 300 Nm (Diesel) |
It must be noted here that the Gurkha is available with just the diesel powertrain. The diesel engine might seem massively underpowered compared to the Thar but the real-world story is quite different. However, the massive torque surge is available at low RPMs which makes the need to shift gear less often. All in all, the performance of the Gurkha is adequate. The Thar has much better specs numbers and that translates to the real-world drive too. Although the official prices of the Gurkha are not out, we expect the Gurkha to undercut the Thar by a significant margin. We hope this features, design and specs comparison between Gurkha and Thar has cleared things out for you.
