In Mumbai on 3rd May 2012, Audi India has officially launched the new Audi A4 sedan in India at a starting price of Rs. 27.85 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. The new Audi A4 has got cosmetic facelifts both on the exteriors as well the interiors. Not only the aesthetics, but the engine efficiency has also been improved with the 1.8 Litre Petrol Engine variant delivering 15.64 KMPL which is 25% higher than the previous generation A4 and the 2.0 Litre TDI Diesel engine variant delivering 16.55 KMPL mileage (both ARAI test numbers). A4 is Audi’s best selling car globally and has been number one in past 39 years. This is the eighteenth generation of Audi A4 which is a huge achievement for Audi as there are very few cars which go on for so many generations. Audi has sold over 1 crore Audi A4s globally since its launch in 1972.
The 18th Generation new Audi A4 has some of the features from the award winning cars, these features include – LED Daytime Running Lights, Driver Information System, Xenon Plus Headlights, Audi Music Interface and Efficiency increase (Energy Recovery) system. The petrol engine has a start-stop micro hybrid system for better fuel economy. Both petrol and diesel variants use turbocharged direct injection engine technology.
