Hyundai aims to re-capture the mid-size sedan segment in our market with the new Verna and the first drive reviews are out already.
The first drive review of the 2023 Hyundai Verna is online. Verna has always been a product that has set new benchmarks in the market in terms of bold styling, premium cabin and features and flexible powertrain and transmission options. With this new model, the Korean carmaker has been able to tick all these boxes yet again. In fact, the 1.5-litre GDi turbo petrol engine makes its debut in the Verna which will be the enthusiasts’ choice. Let us check out how it feels to drive the new Verna.

2023 Hyundai Verna Drive Review
This review has been done by the YouTuber Ayush Verma. He seems evidently impressed by the driving mannerisms of the sedan. The pull is quite strong as seen from the video, the ADAS features aid the driver a lot in terms of sticking to the lane and monitoring the blind spot, and the turning radius is decent too. Note that the YouTuber has a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine with an automatic gearbox. He also mentions that the drive is pretty smooth.

He takes a look at the exterior which has a modern design philosophy including a sleek LED light bar atop the bonnet, LED headlamps on either side of the massive front grille, stylish alloy wheels, sharp creases on the sides and bonnet, a sloping roofline toward the rear, LED taillamps connected via a light bar. On the inside, there are tons of changes including a seamless dashboard with concealed AC vents, driver-focused connected touchscreen infotainment and a driver’s digital instrument cluster with steering-mounted controls for multimedia and ADAS. In addition, there are modern tech features like wireless charging, connected car tech and more.

In terms of powertrains, the 2023 Hyundai Verna comes with a 1.5-litre NA and a 1.5-litre GDi turbo petrol engine producing 115 PS / 144 Nm and 160 PS / 253 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. The transmission duties will be carried by a 6-speed MT or a CVT automatic with the non-turbo trim and a 6-speed MT or a DCT automatic with the turbo version.
