Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL), the Indian subsidiary of the popular Japanese bike-maker giant, has silently launched the 2017 Suzuki Gixxer on PayTM mall app. Earlier this year, the manufacturer updated the bike with a BS-IV compliant engine and an Always-on Headlamp. Now, thanks to some new spy images that have surfaced on the web space, it seems like the bike has even received a set of dual-tone red-black-painted alloys. It’s not for sure if the red-black alloys come factory-fitted; for all we know, it could be a dealer-level job. The new 2017 Suzuki Gixxer model continues with a 154.9cc, single-cylinder, SOHC engine that comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This BS-IV compliant engine produces a max. power of 14.5 BHP at 8,000 RPM along with a peak torque of 14 Nm at 6,000 RPM.

Prices are likely to have remain unchanged. That said, we’re sure the version with red-black alloys would cost slightly more, but for now, it looks like the regular variant, with black alloys, continues to cost Rs 86,421. This is roughly Rs 2,000 more than the cost of BS-3 model that was on sale till March. Like we said, the new 2017 model Suzuki Gixxer is also available on the PayTM Mall app. Ordering this motorcycle through this e-commerce app gives you a cashaback of Rs 5,000. This brings the effective cost of the bike to less than Rs 82,000, thereby further enhancing the value-for-money proposition.

The above images were taken at Bangalore by a reader of International Business Times. As you can see, these images show a Gixxer 155 motorcycle that has red-painted alloys. The bike was snapped at the dealership. It’s not for sure if the manufacturer has actually started offering an option of red-painted rims. Chances are that this could be a dealer-level job. However, we’ll update you with concrete details on this as soon as we get an official word regarding this.

The Gixxer 2017 model offers the same 154.9cc, single-cylinder SOHC engine that powered the BS3 model. However, the motor is now BS-4 compliant and hence, produces lower emissions. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed Manual Transmission and outputs a max. power-torque of 14.5 BHP and 14 Nm.
