Popular French car manufacturer, Renault, has finally taken the wraps off the new-generation Dacia Duster, which will actually become the new 2017 Renault Duster for India. The new model Duster will make its public debut on September-12, 2017 at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. These images, however, give us a good look at the exterior design of the new SUV ahead of its motor show debut in September. The new Renault Duster is underpinned by Nissan’s new CMF-B platform. The popular small-SUV gets an all-new design, inside and out, and it probably gets many new features and new engines. Of course, the latest version of this SUV will launch in India in near future! It’s also likely to debut at the Auto Expo 2018. Here’s all that you need to know about the new 2017 Renault Duster.

In all honesty, the 2017 Renault Duster looks a lot like the current model. This, in spite of the fact that it gets an all-new design. That said, the manufacturer has done enough to ensure the new model looks modern and that it continues to have a bold design. The front-end gets a stylish new grille that ensures the new car gets the typical new-age Renault face. Furthermore, the new SUV gets stylish headlamps that incorporate LED DRLs. The new facade does give the SUV a really modern look whilst maintaining the charm of the original model. While it’s the side profile that is the most highly reminiscent of the last-gen model, every panel is new and overall, the car does look better. The rear of the car gets modern new taillamps and a more prominent rear skid plate.

Details of the interior are yet to come out. However, it’s very likely that the interior will not only offer more space but will also come with many new features. We are pretty sure that the cabin will be built of higher quality materials and will boast better fit-and-finish levels. Features list should include a modern infotainment system, six airbags, rear aircon vents, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts among other things.
Until recently, speculations were rife that Renault also plans to come up with a long-wheelbase 7-seater model. However, it’s pretty much for sure that Renault won’t launch such a model anytime soon. Even the engine options are under covers at the moment. However, safely expect the new Duster to get a modern 1.2-litre petrol unit with a turbocharger and a 1.6-litre Turbo Diesel engine. For India, the current set of motors might soldier on though.

New 2017 Renault Duster Exterior Design
‘The same but better.’ – this is exactly what Dacia claims its customers want. No surprise then, that, the company decided to stick to the earlier Duster’s design theme and improve it instead of completely replacing it with a new one. In all honesty, the new generation Duster looks much like the original model, but believe you me, there’s not even a single panel that the new car shares with the earlier one. The front facade is characterized by a new grille that gives the latest Duster Renault’s latest family look. Both the headlights and the taillights have been pushed to the very edges to make the car look wider.
The wheels have grown in size by an inch and the roof rails are now thicker. In the side profile, you will be able to notice some significant changes. The greenhouse is now smaller and the wheel arches now look bolder. The proportions are new, too. There’s a faux air-vent behind the front wheel arches. The windscreen looks bigger as its lower edge has moved forward by as much as 100 mm. The dimensions don’t see a big change. However, the cumulative effort of all these minor changes ends up being well pronounced.
Speaking on the new SUV’s design, Design Director David Durand says: ‘It’s quite challenging to replace the Duster because it’s such an iconic car, very recognisable, with a true personality: honest, unpretentious, none too aggressive. We wanted to keep this personality but make it better.’
New 2017 Renault Duster Interior
Renault is yet to reveal the interior of the new 2017 Duster. However, we’ve got a feeling that it’ll be a lot more radical than the car’s exterior. We expect the setup to be built of higher quality materials and have a better fit and finish. We really don’t know if the cabin will be able to offer much more space thou. Like we said, there is not a big change in the dimensions. However, it is for sure that the features list is going to get a lot longer. Expect the interior to offer a modern touchscreen infotainment unit that will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also, the new Duster will offer as many as six airbags, rear AC vents, ISOFIX child seat mounts, cruise control and a lot more.
