Mahindra exports the XUV700 to many international markets, including South Africa and Australia
In the latest television commercial, the MY2025 Mahindra XUV700 has been showcased. Now, the XUV700 is the flagship ICE vehicle in the portfolio of the Indian auto giant. With its new breed of electric SUVs, Mahindra commands a significant premium. However, in the ICE world, the XUV700 is the best that it has got. I must also mention here that the facelift model is just around the corner. It will bear elements from the electric XEV 7e which will launch soon. For now, let us take a look at the details of the MY2025 model.
MY2025 Mahindra XUV700 TVC
This video clip stems from Mahindra Australia on YouTube. It captures the details of the new MY2025 Mahindra XUV700. Note that since it is not a facelift, there are no changes to the exterior. Also, the interior remains largely the same. The main highlights inside the cabin include things like an all-black interior theme, ventilated front seats, 5, 6 and 7-seat configurations, two 10.25-inch screens – one for the driver’s instrument cluster and one for the infotainment, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, large 1.3 m panoramic sunroof, Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, and much more.
Under its hood, the powertrain option remains the same as well. This means that the SUV continues to draw power from a potent 2.0-litre mStallion direct injection turbo petrol engine, boasting an impressive output of 149.2 kW (equivalent to 200 hp) and 380 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. This mill pairs with a 6-speed automatic transmission, distributing power to all four wheels of the SUV. This configuration lends it some decent off-roading capabilities. The vehicle comes with the assurance of a 7-year / 150,000 km warranty and a 7-year Roadside Assistance (RSA) plan.ย In Australia, the prices for the MY2025 start at an enticing AUD $39,999 driveaway.
My View
The Indian automobile giant has been doing great on the sales charts in Australia. It has been in the market for close to 2 decades now. Over these years, it has made a name for itself. However, with the latest SUVs from the Indian car marque, the Australian customers are beginning to take notice even more strongly in the passenger vehicle segment. Note that until a few years ago, the Mahindra pickup was a major product. Going forward, it will be interesting to see if it launches the new-age EVs Down Under.
