Legendary cricketer MS Dhoni becomes the first person in the country to own the Citroen Basalt Dark Edition. Interestingly, he was present on the occasion of the official unveiling. Dark Edition models are often created by car companies to offer their vehicles in a more sporty avatar. Generally, the young buyers like the all-black exterior and interior. In fact, we have seen many auto giants offer such Dark Edition trims of their existing cars. These are mostly SUVs. For now, let us take a look at the details here.
MS Dhoni Unveils and Buys First Citroen Basalt Dark Edition

Citroen dealership welcomes MS Dhoni to interact with him and offer him the keys to his Basalt Dark Edition. The top Citroen officials are seen conversing with the iconic cricketer. It is fascinating to see Dhoni so excited and involved with the car. In fact, the Citroen officials mentioned that they have incorporated some changes initially mentioned by MS Dhoni as feedback.
The SUV comes in a Perla Nera Black shade with dark chrome details on the Chevron emblem, front grille, and side cladding. Black accents are also noticeable on the bumpers and door handles. Importantly, the Dark Edition theme continues inside. The interior includes black elements like Metropolitan Black leatherette seats and a specially wrapped leatherette instrument panel. The Carbon Black cabin is further highlighted with Lava Red accents, glossy black touches on key areas, unique seat covers, dark chrome trim, a grille highlight, and several other stylish details. The Citroen Basalt Dark Edition starts at Rs 12.80 lakh, ex-showroom, since it is based on the top trim. Note that the French auto giant has even launched the Dark Edition version of the C3 and Aircross.

To cater to the growing needs of modern-day car buyers, it becomes essential to keep up with the latest trends. We have seen such dark edition models from Mahindra, Tata and Hyundai in the last couple of years. Some consumers prefer the all-black treatment on the outside and inside. That is a great way to set a vehicle different from its stock avatar without having to incorporate too many customizations.
