Once upon a time, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio was the most efficient diesel car in the country in contrast to it being the most fuel-efficient petrol car, that it is. The Celerio has been around in our market for quite a few years now. Being true to the DNA of Maruti Suzuki cars in India, it used to be the most fuel-efficient car in the segment from back when it used to come powered by a diesel engine. Now, Maruti has launched the all-new Celerio in a petrol-only variant but the tag of “the most fuel-efficient car of India” still holds true. That is one of the major reasons why so many people opt for Maruti cars in our price-conscious market. The fuel prices, although have given some relief to the car owners, are still terribly high compared to just a year ago. To own a petrol car with low mileage is not an option anymore. Below is a brochure from back in the day when Maruti Celerio was marketed with the same slogan as today.

Celerio Most Efficient Petrol and Diesel
The brochure in the image above shows key highlights of the erstwhile Celerio with a diesel heart. Apart from the other performance and features, the main point of attraction is the 27.62 km/l mileage figure. That is indeed extremely high and it is no wonder that people took a liking to this car. The design was quite modern too, according to those standards. It was offered as a more luxurious alternative to the WagonR. But by 2021, it was beginning to show its age. Hence, a facelift was required. Maruti went one step ahead and even offered a brand new platform which allowed the overall dimensions of the Celerio to grow comprehensively. The interiors and features have also been enhanced as per today’s needs. It is not unfair to say that the 2021 Maruti Celerio is a completely updated car compared to the outgoing model from inside and out.
