The Guinness World Record for the most expensive number plate in the world goes to ‘P7’ for a jaw-dropping AED 55 million (approx. Rs 122.6 Crore INR). This was a part of the auction conducted by Emirates Auction and the proceeds of this amount will go toward supporting the ‘1 Billion Meals Endowment’ campaign. It aims at establishing the largest Ramadan sustainable food aid endowment fund. The number ‘P7’ was a part of the ‘Most Noble Numbers’ charity auction held in Dubai.

Most Expensive Number Plate
What is interesting is the fact that there is not much information about the buyer of this VIP number. This endowment fund was started by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai. The venue for this unique event was the renowned Four Season Resort Dubai, Jumeirah Beach in collaboration with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.

In addition to this number plate, there were multiple fancy number plates up for auction. This includes numbers like 10 two-digit numbers AA19, AA22, AA80, O71, X36, W78, H31, Z37, J57, N41, Y900, Q22222 and Y6666 along with some more. Out of these, the number AA19 was sold for AED 4.9 million, O71 was bought for AED 15 million and Q22222 for AED 975,000. This is just a glimpse of what the auction ceremony would have been like for the people who were not present there.

Apart from these VIP number plates, there were also unique mobile numbers for auction. This includes the fancy platinum mobile number – 971583333333 which went for a mind-blowing AED 2 million. Prior to this, the most expensive number plate in 2008 was an Abu Dhabi’s car number 1 which was sold at an unbelievable AED 52.2 million (approx. Rs 116.3 Crore). Such bidding amounts are beyond the perceptive of us, mere mortals. But it is good to know that the proceeds will be used diligently to take care of the ones in need.
