Based on the 45x Concept, the Tata Altroz goes on to lock horns with the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20
Last year, Tata Motors launched its first-ever premium hatchback, the Altroz in our market. Right now, it is the safest car in its segment as it has scored a 5-star rating on the Global NCAP crash test. The hatchback is quite popular among buyers for its modern looks. But, to make it look more eye-catching, enthusiasts around India modify it as per their preference. The modified Tata Altroz you see here belongs to one Manu Prabhakar. This car features a lot of customizations. Upfront, it gets aftermarket fog lamps with an LED DRL ring light. Below the bumper, one can also see a splitter, which enhances the sporty quotient of the hatchback.
On the side, the modifier has replaced the stock wheel with aftermarket 17-inch alloy units. Furthermore, this Tata Altroz also employs side skirts and side splitters. The front and side splitters are coloured in gloss black colour shade, which gels up quite well with the hatchback’s High Street Gold paint scheme. At the back, the bumper employs a diffuser treatment along with a new Valvetronic exhaust. The modifier has also made several changes inside the cabin of the car. The seats now feature brown coloured leather covers, which looks plush. Moreover, the premium hatchback also gets an aftermarket Android-based touchscreen infotainment unit and ambient lighting. The Tata Altroz you see here is the entry-level XE petrol trim of the car.

It derives power from a 1.2-litre NA, three-pot gasoline mill, which shreds out 86 PS of peak power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The overall cost of all these modifications is around Rs 1.3 lakh. These customizations have been done by the owner along with his friend who owns the garage. Other than the 1.2-litre NA petrol unit, Tata Altroz is also offered with a 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre turbo petrol mill. The former develops 90 PS and 200 Nm of twisting force, while the latter puts out power and torque outputs of 110 PS and 140 Nm. Transmission duties are done by a 5-speed MT. In its segment, the Tata hatchback competes with the likes of Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20.
