Mitsubishi Pajero is the classic 4×4 SUV from Mitsubishi in India. It does not clock too much sales and specially after the BS4 emission norms implemented in 13 cities in India , where the Pajero was discontinued because of the emission norms, the sales headed even lower. To keep up with the emission norms, Mitsubishi have made modifications to the existing engine to make it BS4 compliant. The new Mitsubishi Pajero with BS4 complaint engine produces 108BHP of Max power and 260 Nm of max torque as opposed to 118 BHP power and 292 Nm torque respectively for the previous BS3 version. This is close to 10% power and torque loss for the same size of the SUV which will make it a little less fun to zip around.
The Pajero weights about 2150Kg (Kerb weight) and is 4.75m long, 1.77m wide and 1.99m high. It rides on large 15 inch tubeless tyres and has 4 wheel drive and 5 speed manual transmission along with a hydraulic power steering.
Even if the Pajero sheds some of the power to pull, the masculine and sporty angle of the Pajero will still be able to attract its admirers and make sales.
