MG Motors plans to roll out four more cars in the next one and a half year. Let’s have a look
MG Motors stepped up the game by unveiling its first premium mid-size SUV, Hector, on May 15. The car features some segment features likes i-SMART technology and a large touchscreen infotainment system. But MG Motors is not stopping just after Hector as it plans to introduce some more cars ready for the Indian Market.
MG Motors have just begun their game in the Indian market and they have already lined up four SUVs for the Indian market that will go on sale in just 18 months. Let’s have a clear look at the upcoming cars from the British manufacturer.
MG eZS
Last month MG announced that after Hector, they will bring their electric SUV to the Indian market later this year. Recently a camouflaged test mule of eZS was spotted on Indian roads which looks similar to the production model ZS SUV.
The car gets features like large panoramic sunroof, touchscreen infotainment system with i-SMART technology already seen on the Hector. The SUV is available in China and sports a 150 bhp electric motor that offers a driving range of 331 km on a single charge. Although it is not confirmed if the same motor will be coming to India.

MG Motors Hector 7 seater
Based on the Baojun 530 that is already launched in China, it shares the same platform as the 5-seater Hector. The dimensions of the car and wheelbase will be the same for both 5 and 7-seater SUVs.
The engine specifications for the three-row SUV will remain the identical and gets 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, a 48-V mild hybrid system and an FCA sourced turbocharged 2.0-litre diesel engine.
Expect the car to come after April 2020 with new BS-VI engine. The prices for the car will go upwards with the addition of third-row seats and new BS-VI compliance petrol and diesel engine. It will rival with the upcoming Tata Buzzard (7-seater Harrier), Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass.
Maxus D90
It is the humoungous SUV from MG Motors which will rival Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturus and Isuzu MU-X. The car measures 5,005mm in length, 1932mm width, 1875mm height and a wheelbase of 2950mm thus reflecting a spacious cabin than its competition.
It will be launched somewhere around Diwali 2020 and is expected to feature a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, heated/ventilated seats, three-zone climate control, 360-degree camera and more such features when it gets launched.
The Chinese market gets a 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor which churns out 225 bhp with 360 Nm of peak torque. The Indian version of the SUV is expected to come in a diesel engine which is a popular choice in the SUV segment. It is expected to be priced between Rs 30 lakh – Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Baojun 510
Seems like the focus for MG Motors is solely on the SUV for the next 18 months and here is another SUV from the manufacturer. However, this is a baby SUV, which measures 4,220mm in length, 1740mm in width and stands tall at 1616mm height.
The cabin of Baojun 510 is inspired by MG Hector and offers two-tone interiors. The car features 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, LED DRL’s with split headlight design, climate control, keyless entry and more. Powering the SUV is a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that generates around 115 bhp.
Safety features like ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, electronic stability control will come with the upcoming SUV. It is expected to see a price range between Rs 10 lakh – 15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
