MG Motors has launched a new Anniversary Edition of the Hector SUV for a price of Rs 13.63 lakh for the petrol-manual variant and Rs 14.99 lakh for the diesel-manual variant. It is based on the lower mid-spec Super trim.
MG Motors has launched a new Anniversary Edition for the Hector SUV. This special Anniversary edition model of the MG Hector has been launched for a price of Rs 13.63 lakh for the petrol-manual variant and Rs 14.99 lakh for the diesel-manual variant, all prices ex-showroom. This special edition model has been launched to commemorate the launch of the Hector SUV on June 17, last year and MG Motors is offering additional kit and special financing schemes too with the Hector Anniversary Edition.
The Anniversary edition model is actually based on the lower mid-spec Super trim and is priced at par with that. The Anniversary edition additionally gets features like wireless mobile charger and air purifier which are not even available on the higher Smart and Sharp variants as standard. This also puts this special edition Hector on a level ground with rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos which come with these features as standard on their top-spec trims.
MG Motors is also offering this special edition model with Singapore-based firm, Medklinn’s cabin sterilisation tech that claims to eliminate bacteria and viruses using active oxygen. Other than that, the features list remains similar to that of the standard Super trim. Some of the features include LED headlamps and DRLs, alloy wheels, a 10.4-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, cruise control, dual airbags, traction control, ABS, ESP, a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors.

MG Motors also offers a buyback scheme on the Hector SUV under its MG Shield programme that assures you a buyback option for the vehicle after three years, at 60% of the original ex-showroom price. MG Motors is now extending this offer to the Anniversary edition model as well along with a zero down-payment option and an EMI of Rs 22,222. Under the hood, this special edition model either gets a 143hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine or a 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine. Both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

You however do not get the convenience of an automatic gearbox with this Anniversary edition model and neither do you get the 48V mild-hybrid options for the petrol engine. The MG Hector is currently priced from Rs 12.92 to Rs 18.00 lakh (ex-showroom) and rivals the likes of the Tata Harrier, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and the Nissan Kicks as well. There’s also a six-seater version of the Hector, known as the Hector Plus, that’s available for a slight premium with captain seats for the middle row.
