MG Hector completely revealed with Benedict Cumberbatch at the wheel!

The India bound MG Hector SUV was seen completely undisguised at a TV commercial shoot with Avengers star Benedict Cumberbatch at the wheel.

The MG Hector SUV, the first product for the SIAC owned British carmaker for India, is all set to launch in India sometime during the second half of 2019. There have been a number of spy shots of the test mule of this SUV, giving us a hint of what this Tata Harrier rival is going to look like. Now a fresh set of images shot during the TV commercial shoot of the Hector completely reveals the exteriors of this India bound vehicle. Interestingly, the spy shots reveal that Benedict Cumberbatch, the Avengers star, at the wheel of this vehicle.

In order to make its mark in an already competitive market, the Hector is going to come to India loaded with features and creature comforts right up to the brim. Recent media reports suggest that the Hector is going to get features such as a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, LED projector headlamps, leather upholstery to name a few.

In comparison to the Baojun 530, sold in the Chinese market, the MG Hector comes with a substantial amount of chrome highlights. In addition to this, it also gets a few design tweaks. This is done so that it becomes more appealing to an Indian buyer. These changes include a revised front and rear bumper. Furthermore, there have been added faux skid plates at the front and back.

The MG Hector is going to launch in India with petrol as well as diesel engines in its line-up. The petrol motors is going to be a 1.5-litre unit, while the diesel engine is going to be a 2.0-litre unit sourced from Fiat. Details regarding the petrol engine are still under the wraps. However, we believe that the diesel engine is going to be the same 2.0-litre engine which does its duty on the Jeep Compass. This engine is capable of churning out 170 BHP of power along with 350 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a manual as well as an automatic unit.

The prices of the MG Hector are expected to fall in-between the range of INR 15 lakh to INR 20 lakh. With this, it will compete directly against the likes of Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson.
