So if you were to buy the Hector Plus based on its features, which trim should you go for? Well, MG Motors has equipped the base variant of the Hector Plus pretty decently, with most of your essentials mostly sorted. But do not expect the base variant to pamper you with fancy features. If you are on a budget but you really need those six seats, the base Style trim makes for a good buy. However, if budget is not a restrain, we advice you to step up to the Smart or Sharp trims. While the Smart trim comes with all you could ever ask for, the really premium features such as the panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, 7-inch MID, automatic climate controls, etc have been kept reserved for the top-spec Sharp trim only.

There will be three powertrain options available with the Hector Plus – a 143hp 1.5 liter turbo-petrol engine, the 1.5 liter turbo-petrol-hybird engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system and a 170hp 2.0 liter diesel engine. While the diesel engine and the mild-hybrid turbo-petrol engine only come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the non-hybrid turbo-petrol engine also gets a 6-speed DCT transmission. The diesel is the only powertrain option available on all the four trims. Meanwhile, the petrol-auto will be available only on the Smart and Sharp variants while the hybrid-manual is only available on the top-spec Sharp variant. That also means that with the base trim, you will only have the option of the diesel powertrain.
Here’s a price chart of the Hector Plus along with its powertrain options and variants

The MG Hector Plus will rival the likes of the Tata Gravitas, the Mahindra XUV500 and also the seven-seater version of the Hyundai Creta which will also be introduced in the future. The Hector Plus can be expected to be around Rs 75,000-80,000 more expensive than the standard Hector. That means prices will likely be in the Rs 15.85-18.80 lakh band (estimated, ex-showroom).
