The MG Hector compact SUV is going to launch in India during the second half of 2019 and is expected to be priced in-between INR 12 lakh to INR 18 lakh.
The premium compact SUV segment in India has recently seen a lot of activity. One of the most recent launches in this space was that of the Tata Harrier. This was preceded by the long-awaited debut of the Nissan Kicks. and soon we are going to witness the arrival of Kia’s all-new SP Concept based SUV as well. In addition to the above-mentioned launches, one of the other most anticipated debuts of this year is of the MG Hector.

The Hector is going to mark the arrival of MG Motors in India. It is expected to be priced in-between the range of INR 12 lakh to INR 18 lakh. Its competition on one end will include the Hyundai Creta and the Nissan Kicks, while on the other hand, it will also pitch against the likes of the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson. However, considering the price segment in which it falls, its direct competitors are going to be the Tata Harrier and the Mahindra XUV 500.

From what we know so far as well as judging by the teasers that MG has shown us of its Hector, the same is for sure a bigger vehicle in terms of its dimensions in comparison to its competition. Not only this, but it is going to stand as a premium vehicle which is going to get a whole array of features and creature comforts onboard.

A recent spy shots, curtsey NDTV, we have got to know that the MG Hector is going to launch in India with a panoramic sunroof. This sunroof appeared to be the biggest in its segment, bigger than the one you get on the Jeep Compass. In addition to this, other premium features with which the Hector is going to come with include dual-zone climate control a 360-degree surround view camera, leather upholstery to name a few.
The MG hector is going to launch in India with both petrol as well as diesel engine options. The petrol derivative is going to be a 1.5-litre unit. While the diesel derivative is going to be a 2.0-litre unit sourced from Fiat. Transmission options will include a manual as well as an automatic option.
