MG Hector bookings have been temporarily stopped due to the production overload. The manufacturer plans to increase the production number to 3,000 by September this year.
MG Motors launch the much anticipated mid-size SUV, Hector, and boy the car has been well received by the Indian market. The reaction is such that within a month of its launch, the mid-size SUV receives 28,000 bookings so far.
The deliveries for the MG Hector have already started and so far the sales for July stands at 1,508 units. The car is the first connected car with 50 features onboard and it competes with the likes of Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta and the upcoming Kia Seltos.
Talking about the July sales, Mr Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India said, “We thank our customers for the initial response to the HECTOR. We remain strongly focused on providing them with a delightful customer experience by ensuring timely vehicle deliveries and seamless assistance.”
MG Motor India has temporarily stopped bookings for the SUV to ensure customer satisfaction. It has received an overwhelming response with 28,000 bookings for the car. The date of the re-opening of bookings will be announced soon. The company plans to increase the production of the HECTOR to 3,000 units per month by September this year.

The production of MG Hector is managed at Halol plant which has a capacity of producing 2,000 units. And because of the increase in demand, the manufacturers will increase the capacity by 1k units and have promised the buyers that the cars will ve delivered with the said time.
MG Hector is a feature-loaded car which provides some first in segment features like a large 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment unit which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets i-SMART car technology which allows the user to operate about 50 app-connected features. It also boasts a huge panoramic sunroof, 8-Color Ambient Lighting, powered tailgate, floating turn indicators, heated ORVM, front parking sensors and more.

Safety features onboard include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, all four tyres disc brakes and more. The higher trims also see ESP with Traction Control, ISOFIX Child seats, Three-point seatbelt and Hill Hold Control. The introductory prices of the MG Hector start at Rs 12.18 lakh for the base trim and top model sets you back by Rs 16.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
