Now, talking about the biggest thing, the price. MG has priced the Hector from Rs. 12.18 lakhs – Rs. 16.88 lakhs, ex showroom. Considering the level of features in the MG Hector and the car itself, the prices are very competitive and sits right in the sweet spot of the segment. As for the powertrains, the MG Hector will come with three engine options. That includes a 1.5L, turbocharged petrol engine, a 48V Hybrid of the same engine and a 2.0L, turbocharged, diesel engine. The petrol engines will make 143 PS @ 5000 rpm and 250 Nm @ 1600-3600 rpm and will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The non-hybrid engine will also have the option of a 6-speed DCT. The diesel engine produces 170 PS power @ 3750 rpm and 350 Nm torque @ 1750-2500 rpm and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The petrol hybrid benefits from 20 Nm of additional torque, better fuel efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions. MG Motors has also revealed the fuel efficiency figures of each of the variants and they are follows :
- Petrol Hybrid with 6MT – 15.8L
- Petrol with 6MT – 14.16L
- Petrol with 6DCT – 13.96L
- Diesel with 6MT – 17.4L
