MG Hector was recently announced to be sold out in India for this year, due to the excess bookings, but if you really want one, you can get a used one.
MG Motors has received an overwhelming response in India for its first model in India, the MG Hector. The prices of the SUV start at Rs 12.18 Lakhs going up to 16.88 Lakhs (ex-showroom), available in three petrol engines.
Recently, MG Motors confirmed that the bookings for Hector have been discontinued temporarily and it is sold out for this year. The booking record has just been achieved in 45 days, which is good for a debutant in India.
But, all the Hector buyers who cannot wait for a year can now buy a used one. MG Hector is now available in the used car market with just 100 kms done on the odometer, which is almost brand new. Even the registration number has not come yet.

You can search for used MG Hector and you will get the option of a white colour HEctor from Kerala. It is the top-spec Sharp variant with a diesel engine. The SUV costs nearly Rs 20.30 Lakhs on-road. But, here’s a catch.
To get this SUV on-the-spot, you have to pay a premium of nearly 3 Lakhs. This car is priced at Rs 23 Lakhs and seeing the unavailability of the SUV for a year, the owner decided to make some profit out of it.
This variant gets a 2.0 Litre turbo-diesel engine that produces 168 BHP and 350 Nm of peak torque, while mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Hector is available with two other engines – a 1.5 Litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5 Litre petrol-hybrid engine.

The petrol engine produces 141 BHP and 250 Nm of peak torque. You get the same 6-speed manual on the other two variants, but the petrol one gets an option of a 6-speed DCT gearbox as well.
Hector goes against the likes of Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500 and Nissan Kicks. It will also face some competition from the upcoming Kia Seltos, which is another trending SUV.
