Here are complete details of the engine options and fuel economy of the upcoming MG Hector. We are driving the Tata Harrier and XUV500-rival this week.
MG Motors is set to launch its first SUV in India, Hector. It is a Smart Car or a well-connected car with advanced connectivity features. The media drives have commenced, so stay tuned for our review, which will be out this week.
MG Hector is going to be available with three engine options to choose from. It comes in petrol and diesel guises, but also gets a Hybrid version. We also have the claimed mileage of each engine.

The power figures of the petrol hybrid and petrol engine are the same, but the former will offer a better mileage. All the three engines are turbocharged. Dual-Clutch Transmission is only available on the petrol variant.

The petrol-hybrid engine offers near 2 kmpl more mileage than the petrol engine. Since its a big SUV, the figures are expected to fall down to 13 kmpl, 10 kmpl and 14 kmpl, respectively.

The power figures are similar to that of Jeep Compass. Since Harrier only comes in the diesel variant, it produces 140 BHP. The power and torque of XUV500 are lesser than these three SUVs.
MG Hector is available in five colour options:

- Glaze Red
The bookings for the Hector have commenced for an amount of Rs 50,000. You can visit the dealerships as well as book the SUV online. The launch of the SUV is scheduled for 14th June.
