MG has been on a bit of a roll lately with a ton of launches already this year. It started the year with updated Hector, Hector Plus 6- seater and newly launched Hector Plus 7-seater. After going past the Hecots fest, MG turned its attention towards the EV car market and launched to updated ZS EV in India. This makes sense because MG wants to cash in on all the opportunities that come their way. In the EV car market, MG ZS EV is the second highest-selling EV in the country after Tata Nexon EV. Hence, to stay in the competition and keep the product fresh, EV received an upgrade. And quickly following that, MG has launched the CVT transmission for all its Hector variants (Hector and Hector plus). Now, the Hector family has a DCT, CVT and of course, manual gearbox options. This makes the Hector family extremely flexible in terms of the seating arrangement, transmission options and powertrain alternatives. That is exactly what MG wanted, to make it easy for customers to choose any variant with as many options as possible. Let us take a look at the overview of the MG Hectors products after the update.

2021 MG Hector Family – Transmissions and Features
The updated versions of the Hector include regular – seat Hector, 6-seat Hector Plus and 7-seat Hector plus. All three products come with petrol and diesel powertrains and multiple transmission options. The petrol variants of all the three can be had with either a manual transmission or a DCT automatic or a CVT automatic. This is done in order to fulfill everyone’s requirements. If someone is looking for a smooth ride with a stable fuel economy, he/she can opt for the newest CVT transmission. However, if someone wants a more spirited and sporty driving experience, without the hassle of operating the clutch he/she can go for the DCT automatic gearbox. If, however, someone is old school and wants full control of the drive and doesn’t mind using the clutch pedal regularly, he/she has the option of a manual gearbox.
