Out of the four trim levels of the Gloster in India – Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy – the Savvy and Smart variants of the Gloster will be only available in a 6-seater configuration – captain seats for the middle row – while the Super variant of the Gloster will feature a 7-seater configuration only. The MG Gloster Sharp variant can be specced with either of the seating arrangements. In terms of dimensions, it is the longest and the tallest SUV in its class with its width only being marginally lesser than the Mahindra Alturas G4. It also has the longest wheelbase in its class and that should translate to a great amount of space on the inside.

The expansive features list on the Gloster is a huge highlight but where the Gloster really takes things a notch higher is with its semi-autonomous driver assistance functions. While Ford already offers the Endeavor with a handsfree parking feature, the Gloster comes with many segment-first features such as Lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, front collision warning, auto park assist and adaptive cruise control. The Gloster is expected to sit on the higher end of the full-size, 7-seat ladder-frame SUV segment. Prices are expected to range between Rs 35-40 lakh (ex-showroom), but for that amount of money, you gets lots of tech, a mammoth of an SUV and powerful diesel engines too. The launch is scheduled around Diwali.
