Car companies are continuously testing their vehicles on the roads before the final launch. Now, an all-new MG Gloster has been spotted.
It looks like MG Motor India is preparing to launch an updated version of its flagship offering. A couple of spy images that emerged recently show a fully-camouflaged MG Gloster being testing on the public roads. A Spy video of a heavily camouflaged test mule doesn’t reveal much except for the fact that the car seems to not feature any new panel or soft parts. While most of the design details are hidden, you can see the SUV with the same LED taillamps and alloy wheels. A big update, however, could be found under the hood in the form of a petrol mill.

The MG Gloster is nothing but a rebadged Maxus D90, which is sold globally with a 224hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Indian version is expected to get the same motor, while retaining the diesel engine option.
For safety, the Toyota Fortuner-rival will continue to offer adaptive cruise control, semi-parallel park assist, autonomous emergency braking, and lane keep assist. However, the new 2022 MG Gloster is expected to feature Level-2 ADAS similar to what the Astor offers.

Currently, the MG Gloster, which is a full-size 7-seat SUV that is slightly larger than the Toyota Fortuner, is being sold with Level 1 Autonomous Driver Assistance System. Additional features include three-zone climate control with a PM2.5 filter, a panoramic sunroof, and a 12-way adjustable driver seat with memory function. There is also a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The price of MG Gloster starts at Rs 29.98 lakh and goes up to Rs 37.68 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). With the discontinuation of the Ford Endeavour, the only real competition that this SUV faces comes from the aforementioned hot-selling Japanese rival.
