A recent spy shot reveals the interiors of the MG Gloster which was unveiled at the Auto Expo. It will come loaded with features and could even get multiple seating configurations.
MG Motors unveiled the Gloster full-size SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo and it looked like it means purpose right from the start. The MG Gloster is a seven-seater full-size SUV that is meant to take on the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, the Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4 in India. The show car at the Auto Expo however came with tinted windows for which we hadn’t seen the interiors. However, a recent spy shots now reveals how the interiors of the India-spec Gloster could look like.
The interior of the Gloster looks similar to the Maxus D90, the SUV it’s based on. For starters, the Gloster comes with an all-black dashboard with silver inserts. From the spy shots, we could make out elements like a flat-bottomed three-spoke steering wheel. However, most of the interiors are under wraps to reveal any more details. MG could also offer the Gloster with various seating layouts (six- or seven-seater), just like the Hector Plus.
One interesting detail that tends to stick out of this wrapped interiors is the Audi-style gear selector for the automatic transmission. The Gloster will come loaded with features to the brim. In fact, it is expected to be one of the most feature-equipped cars in its segment. These features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.0-inch Digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
It will also get three-zone climate control, cooled/heated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, a premium sound system, powered front seats and keyless entry with push-button start. Expected safety features include a minimum of six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera and electronic stability control.
In China, the Maxus D90 is powered by a 2.0L turbo-petrol engine that produces 220bhp and 360Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. It remains to be seen if MG will offer a petrol engine on the India-spec Gloster.

This is the engine that will most likely power the India-spec Gloster, which by the way, is said to be developed from the FCA’s Multijet II engine. Transmission options could even include an 8-speed automatic gearbox with this engine.
