MG Windsor has been immensely successful for the JSW-owned British car marque in India due to its unique BaaS aspect
In the latest development, there were 101 units of the MG Windsor EV delivered in a single day in Chennai. Windsor has created a lot of buzz around the industry-first Baas (Battery-as-a-Service) concept. This aims to reduce the high initial costs of purchasing electric cars. It allows buyers to pay for the vehicle alone in the beginning and rent the battery. A monthly fee is paid by the owners depending on the usage. Hence, it makes a lot of sense to reduce the financial burden on the customers. Let us take a look at the details of this case here.
101 MG Windsor EVs Delivered in a Single Day
The MG Windsor EV is all the rage at the moment. It achieved an impressive feat of being the best-selling EV in October 2024. Note that this was its first month of delivery. The company sold 3,116 units of the electric crossover. This marks a remarkable 30% portion of total Passenger Electric Car sales in October. Prior to that, it also became the first passenger EV in the country to bag 15,176 bookings within the first 24 hours. An event was organized to celebrate this occasion where 101 EVs were prepared for a mass delivery process. We have seen some car marques adopt such practices in the past.
