Recent reports suggest that the upcoming MG 6-seater will not be called as Hector. The manufacturer might showcase it at the 2020 Auto Expo.
As we told you earlier, MG Motors is working on a 6-seater SUV that will be based on the Hector itself. The latter measuring around 4.7m long is just a bit short of Innova. And we all know how spacious Innova is when it comes to MPVs.
However, MG might not name its 6-seater as Hector, but something new. Going by the recently shared spy shots as well, the MG 6-seater looks a bit different than the Hector from the back and the side.
The 6-seater version will be the third model from MG Motors, after the Hector and the upcoming ZS Electric SUV. We can expect it to be seen at the 2020 Auto Expo, where the manufacturer will showcase its upcoming products.

The dimensions of the 6-seater are likely to remain the same as the Hector. Individual captain seats will be used for all the three rows, which looks premium. The boot size will be reduced drastically, but still, not very less.
Under the hood, you can expect the same set of engines from the Hector, but in BS-6 forms. Hector uses a 1.5 Litre turbo-petrol engine and 2.0 Litre turbo-diesel engine. The petrol engine also gets a mild-hybrid system as an option.
The turbo-petrol unit comes mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox as standard. The diesel and petrol-hybrid variants get a 6-speed manual gearbox, without any option of an automatic. The same configurations might come on the MG 6-seater.
