Popular luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz India has consolidated its foothold in the luxury SUV segment by launching the GLS63 AMG. The new model was launched alongside the G63 AMG Edition 463. The launch of these two new models expands the carmaker’s SUV range to as many as eight models. For the record, this is the highest by any manufacturer in Indian luxury car space. The new Mercedes GLS63 AMG is based on the GLS-Class but carries several styling updates to look tastier and far more appealing. Mercedes claims the GLS63 is the quickest in its segment. Both the Mercedes G63 AMG Edition 463 and the Mercedes GLS63 AMG were launched by Roland Folger, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.

Powering the new Mercedes GLS63 AMG Edition 463 is a 5.5-litre BITURBO V8-engine that delivers 585 BHP and 760 Nm. The engine comes mated to a semi-automatic 7-speed transmission. Mercedes claims the GLS63 is the quickest in its class as it goes on to accelerate from 0 to 100 KMPH in just 4.6 seconds. The car has an electronically limited top speed of 280 KMPH. The car features a permanent AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system that has a discrete transfer case.
