It has been the go-to choice for a whole bunch of enthusiasts in our country for years now. In fact, it is the reason why so many youngsters are into adventure driving. Thar ensures that the owners are able to reach even the far-flung areas of the country. It can do that in its stock settings too. However, some owners want to take things to the next level. This video comes from SQV on YouTube. The vlogger constantly keeps uploading videos regarding his Thar. Over the last few weeks, he is showcasing the development of his passion project. He is making a 6×6 version of the Thar. Now, you might have seen a handful of such vehicles on the road. These are common in the desert rides in the Middle East. Apart from that, there are hardly any vehicles like this. But the vlogger is determined to create a 6×6 iteration of his Thar. Over the last few weeks, he has made a lot of changes to the SUV which he captures in his vlogs.

Modifications
Firstly, there are numerous customizations on the exterior. The entire body of this Thar is being revamped to give it a mean look with an imposing road presence. This includes things like off-roading gear like a winch, rugged bumpers, lift kits, colossal tyres, an additional axle to complete the 6×6 configuration, a snorkel to enhance water-wading capabilities, and a bunch of other elements. In fact, to compensate for the added weight and hardware, he has even upgraded the engine. He calls his SUV the Thar 700. Needless to say, there are a lot of hurdles with a project like this which is why it is taking so long. But we shall keep updating this post as and when something new comes up.

Specs
The Thar offers two engine choices. One is a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that generates 150 hp and 320 Nm of power and torque. The other option is a 2.2-litre diesel engine that provides 130 hp and 320 Nm of peak power and torque. Both of these engines can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox, along with a 4×4 transfer case. The prices begin at Rs 10.54 lakh and go up to Rs 16.78 lakh, ex-showroom.
