The Indian Grand Prix is scheduled to start soon and ahead of it, to complement the same, Mercedes-Benz India has launched a sport edition of its flagship sedans, Mercedes C-Class and Mercedes E-Class. These new variants were launched by Mr. Peter Honegg, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and Mr. Debashis Mitra, Director, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India.

Mercedes C-Class Sport Edition
The first distinguishing feature about the C-Class is the AMG body styling that includes front and rear bumper aprons and side skirts. Moreover it equips 17 inch 5 spoke light alloy wheels, a black painted roof, halogen lamps, fog lamps and a SPORT badge. The car is available in Polar white body colour and all these together add aggression and style to the already stunning C-Class. The C 220 CDI Sport Edition’s interior too get a major makeover with Artico upholstery complemented by a Black piano lacquer trim. The passenger cabin consists of electric seats, THERMATIC automatic climate control, Audio 20 with single CD player – with USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth capability. As always safety has also been taken care of with features like PRE–SAFE, NECK Pro, Tire pressure loss warning system, 6 Airbags, an Antilock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Stability Program (ESP), an Acceleration Skid Control (ASR) and Brake Assist.
Under the hood of the C-Class Sport Edition is a 4 cylinder 2143 cc engine that has a rated output of 170 BHP @ 3000-4200 RPM and a rated torque of 400 Nm @ 1400-2800 RPM, and the same is mated to a 7G TRONIC automatic transmission.
Mercedes E-Class Sport Edition
Alike the C-Class Sport Edition, the E-Class Sport Edition also features AMG body styling that comprises of the front and rear bumper aprons, sporty side skirts, 18 inch 4 spoke alloy wheels, black painted roof, SPORT badge, halogen lamps, LED daytime driving lights, Direct Control Suspension, and a Polar White Body color.
Interior includes Artico upholstery complemented by burr walnut wood trim, THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control, Audio 20 with single CD player, with USB, Aux in and Bluetooth Connectivity. The E-Class Sport Edition safety features include PRE – SAFE, NECK Pro, Attention Assist and tire pressure loss warning system, 6 Airbags, Antilock Braking System, Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Programme with Acceleration Skid Control (ASR) etc.
The car features the same engine as that of C-Class Sport Edition and is mated to a 7G TRONIC automatic transmission.

Price
While the C-Class Sport Edition is priced at Rs. 29.90 Lakhs, the E-Class Sport Edition is priced at Rs. 39.90 Lakhs, both ex-showroom Delhi.
