Mercedes-Benz is celebrating another milestone and to commemorate it, another special edition of the C-Class has been launched. In November 2013, the company celebrated selling 1 crore units of the C-Class worldwide by launching the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Edition C in India. Now, the company has launched the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Grand Edition celebrating the rolling out of 50,000 cars from it’s plant in Chakan, Pune.
“The C-Class Grand Edition embodies Mercedes-Benz’s uncompromising style, design and performance. The C-Class remains one of Mercedes-Benz’ best-sellers in the competitive entry level luxury sedan segment with more than 19,000 units sold till date. To celebrate the 50,000th Mercedes-Benz roll out from our benchmarking plant, we are delighted to present the ‘The new C-Class Grand Edition’ in both petrol and diesel versions for our discerning patrons.” said Mr. Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 200 (Petrol) Grand Edition is priced at Rs. 36.81 Lakh

Styling
The Grand Edition gets the AMG styling package on the outside, which adds stylish bumpers at the front and rear, and side-skirts. It also adds 17-inch 10-spoke ally wheels with black hub-caps. ‘Grand Edition’ stickers adorn the fenders, and the car also gets an exclusive ‘finned’ grille to make it stand out from the other 19,000+ C-Class’s on the road.
On the inside the car gets ARTICO upholstery with a choice of choosing between black or almond beige colour options. The trim is ‘structured’ aluminium.
Features
The C-Class Grand Edition is not very different from the regular C-Class in terms of equipment. You get a 4-inch multi-information display in the instrument cluster, navigation integrated multimedia system with includes 79 Lakh points of interest (fuel pumps, dealerships, restaurants etc.).
Safety features are also the typical fare as found on the regular car, which include:

Performance
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Grand Edition is the same as the regular C-Class in terms of mechanicals too. The C 200 is powered by an in-line 4-cylinder 1.8-litre petrol motor generating 182 BHP @ 5600 rpm and 285 Nm @ 2400-2000 rpm. The C 220 CDI is powered by an in in-line 4-cylinder 2.0-litre diesel motor producing 166 BHP @ 3000-4200 rpm and 400 Nm @ 1400-2800.
