Mercedes Benz C-Class facelift has been launched in India. The facelifted luxury sedan starts from Rs 40 lakhs and goes up to Rs 48.50 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It comes in three variants – C 220d Prime, 220d Progressive, and 300d.
Mercedes Benz has launched the mid-life facelift version of the C-Class sedan. It gets some cosmetic upgrades and tweaks on the exterior, some feature additions on the inside and most importantly, a BS-VI diesel engine. Ahead of the emission norms kicking from 2020, Mercedes has already made it BS-VI engine compliant. It is one of the most successful Mercedes Benz models. The range starts with the base variant C 220d Prime, C 220d Progressive, and the top-end C 300d AMG. The price range starts from Rs 40 Lakhs and goes up to Rs 48.50 Lakhs (ex-showroom price).
The changes on the exterior part include new multibeam LED headlamps for the C 300D, LED tail lamps, tweaked front, and rear bumper and a new set of alloy wheels. Mercedes has also introduced a new colour option – Mojave Silver.

Inside the cabin, it gets a newly designed steering wheel, a dual-touchpad system, and a new 10.25-inch COMAND infotainment system. The dual-touchpad system is borrowed from the E-Class and the S-Class sedans. The top-end C 300D also comes with active parking assist. The C 300D also gets a smartphone integration package.
Mercedes Benz C-Class gets the same 2.0 Litre diesel engine under the hood. However, now it gets two states of tuning. The engine of C 300D churns out 245 BHP of power and 500 Nm of torque. The other two variants are lesser powerful. Their engine produces around 194 BHP of power and 400 Nm of torque.
The acceleration figure from 0-100 kmph stands at 5.9 seconds flat for the Mercedes Benz C-Class 300d. The C 220d does the same acceleration in 7.9 seconds. The top speed of the AMG variant is 250 km/hr and that of the 220d is 232 km/hr. Both the engines come paired to 9GTRONIC automatic transmissions.

The service pack for the C-Class range starts at Rs 72,000 which is available for a period of 2 years.
The Mercedes Benz C-Class compares with the likes of BMW 3-Series, Audi A4 and Volvo S60. The BMW ranges from Rs 39.80 lakhs to Rs 47.30 Lakhs. The Audi starts from Rs 41.47 lakhs up to Rs 46.94 Lakhs. The Volvo starts from Rs 38.51 Lakhs to Rs 40.78 Lakhs (all prices ex-showroom India).
