BMW has always amazed us with its advancements and beautiful cars. The one car which really stands out of the German automaker’s line-up is the BMW X6. This SUV-Coupe crossover is one of its kind and that is why people like it.
The only and only thing about the car which is remarkable, other than its radical looks, is the handling. The car’s driving dynamics are simply unbelievable and the pleasure it offers is inexpressible. With this car BMW discovered a new segment which still contains a single car, the X6 itself, and there is no competition in the same as of yet.
Mercedes-Benz, another potent German major, has recently confirmed that they are working on an entirely new model which will be a SUV-Coupe crossover and will rival the X6. The new Benz is one of the ten new models the company wishes to introduce by 2015.
As per the information the new model, expected in 2015, will be produced at its Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant.
“This new model from the Tuscaloosa plant is an important element of our growth strategy. It is one of the ten additional models which we will introduce within the next four years alone across all segments,” said Mercedes chief Dieter Zetsche.
The car is speculated to be named as Merc GLS and will be a 4 seater, unlike the usual 5 seat configuration. It would sport a bigger 4.8 Liter V8 petrol engine and possibly a frugal 3.0 Liter V6 diesel motor too. Since most of the company’s models do get an AMG performance version, we could also expect a 5.5 Liter V8 powered GLS AMG later.
X6 is soon going to face a tough time as on one end Merc will come out with this new baby and on the other Audi is also going to unveil the Audi Q6 by 2016.
