Mufti’s Mahindra Scorpio Collides with Civilian Car
Two individuals, including one of Mehbooba Mufti’s security personnel, sustained injuries as her Mahindra Scorpio collided with a civilian car at Sangam. The accident occurred while Mufti was en route to Khanabal to meet victims of a recent fire incident. Fortunately, Mehbooba Mufti was unhurt in the mishap. This, despite her Mahindra Scorpio sustaining great damage. Meanwhile, Mufti displayed resilience, proceeding with her scheduled visit to Khanabal in another car.
While Mufti escaped unharmed, her driver and a member of her personal security team suffered minor injuries in the collision. The Mahindra Scorpio, bearing the brunt of the impact, sustained substantial damage to the front. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) spokesperson confirmed Mufti’s safety, and Mufti’s daughter, Iltija Mufti, expressed gratitude for the outpouring concern. Despite the severity of the accident, both Mufti and her security officers remained unharmed.

Calls for Inquiry
National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah expressed relief at Mufti’s safety but called for a thorough inquiry into the circumstances leading to the accident. He emphasized addressing any security gaps that may have contributed to the incident. Leaders across party lines, including Salman Soz and Naeem Akhtar, extended their wishes for Mufti’s safety and a swift recovery for her driver and personal security officer. Mufti herself assured everyone of her well-being while acknowledging the injuries sustained by her companions.
