Mahindra SUV Proving Track
The Mahindra SUV Proving Track is a 454-acre facility in Chennai, India. The state-of-the-art facility is specifically designed for testing Mahindra SUVs. It offers a diverse range of testing facilities. This includes an off-roading track that is specially designed to test capabilities for any type of terrain. The company uses it to ensure the performance, durability, and safety of Mahindra vehicles. Here are some of the specialised parts of testing tracks to get the required data:
Braking Zone
This segment is designed to test the emergency braking, brake balance, and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) functionality.
Climate Chamber
The engineers have created a controlled environment that can test an SUV’s performance in extreme weather conditions. This includes high temperatures, extreme cold, humidity, etc.
Crash Testing Facility
This sections lets one check the safety of the vehicles. It offers controlled collisions to check a car’s structural integrity and occupant protection.
Durability Track
This segment tests an SUV on rough surfaces and potholes over extended periods. It allows the team to judge a car’s durability.
Handling Circuit
The special course features tight turns, slalom sections, and chicanes. It allows one to assess a car’s manoeuvrability, cornering abilities, and overall handling dynamics.
High-Speed Track
This segment has wide curves. It allows the engineers to assess a car’s stability at higher speeds. They can also check braking performance, aerodynamics, and overall handling.
