Among the most discussed of the new Maruti Cars in India has been the hatchback that has brought the ‘Baleno’ moniker back to life. The new model Baleno launched in India last year and has been commanding a huge waiting period ever since. Since its launch, Maruti Suzuki has sold around 50,000 units of the new 2015 Baleno in the domestic market. Waiting period for the new 2015 Baleno is as much as 8 months at some places. Now, however, there’s a good news!. MSIL plans to increase the production of the Baleno to bring down the waiting period. Also, the company will start producing the Baleno at its facility in Gujarat. This will further reduce the waiting period. You can read in detail about the new 2015 Baleno in our post below –

The Maruti YRA hatchback (2015 new Baleno) weighs less than the Maruti Swift. The platform of the YRA might have followed the same technology as Maruti Ciaz, which is constructed with high tensile strength steel, which translates to decent weight savings. Being placed in the premium hatchback category, the Maruti YRA hatchback is also more spacious than the Swift.
Suzuki has announced that the Baleno premium hatchback will get the company’s all-new 1.0-litre, turbocharged Boosterjet petrol motor in most markets. This new-age engine will also power the next generation Swift hatchback. The new 1.0-litre tubro-petrol motor for the YRA features direct injection and is related to the larger 1.4-litre unit that is likely to available in the Chinese market. Sadly though, this new-age motor won’t make it to India anytime soon. Instead, the YRA hatchback will be sold in India with an 83 bhp 1.2-litre petrol and a 74 bhp 1.3-litre diesel engines, the same ones powering the Swift and the Dzire.
New 2015 Baleno Fuel Mileage
The company has managed to extract more from the engines in terms of mileage. The diesel, according to ARAI rated figures, delivers 27.39 kpl, while the petrol is good for 21.7 kpl.

Launch Pics
As can be seen in the pics here, Suzuki has adopted a rather unconventional styling for the upcoming hatchback. Highlights of the front-end include a set of Swift-like headlamps, and a wide grille that stretches between each of the headlight units. The headlamps get LED daytime running lights and projector units. The tail lamps are also expected to feature LED stop lamps and the detailing is reminiscent of the now defunct Maruti Kizashi sedan. The side is characterized by a neat shoulder line and a large DLO. The rear has a slight ‘European’ touch to it and gets a beefy bumper and chunky looking headlamps. The interior looks pretty futuristic and seems to feature high-quality plastics.
