Maruti Suzuki WagonR was launched earlier this year and the car proved its worth by beating its competition by a high margin. The car is said to be both economical on the pocket and providing basic features for those who are on a budget. This is also proved by the sales figure for July that Maruti WagonR also beat the Alto and Swift to acquire the best selling position.
Maruti WagonR sales for July stood out at 15,062 units while Alto, a segment below sold about 11,577 units in the same month. The Swift garnished over 12,000 units for July.

The first six cars in the top-selling batch comprise mostly from Maruti’s stable with Swift and Alto getting third and fourth position respectively. The premium hatchback Baleno stood fifth at a total of 10,482 units while the Eeco garnished 9,814 sales.

The Maruti Suzuki WagonR is based on the Heartect platform and offers standard safety features like ABS with EBD, Dual front airbags among all trims. The availability of the high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminders and rear parking sensors also follow the lead.
Feature additions onboard include a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Electric ORVMs, a revised instrument cluster, steering-mounted audio and telephony controls.
The 2019 Maruti Suzuki WagonR is powered by two petrol engines – a 1.0L, petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. There’s also the 1.2L, K Series, 4 cylinder petrol engine that offers 82 bhp power and 113 Nm torque mated to a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission. The prices for the same starts at Rs 4.39 lakh and the top en trim sets you back by Rs 5.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Well, that’s not it as Hyundai Venue, the latest entry to the compact SUV market pulled out 9,585 units in total beating the popular Brezza and Nexon. The pricing for the sub-4-metre starts at Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is quite competitive.

We also have the popular MPV, Ertiga and the car managed about 9,222 units. It recently got its CNG trims launched and also the 1.5L petrol motor got upgraded to BS6 emission norms.
Hyundai Elite i20 is just 1,470 units short to beat the Baleno and standing at a total of 9,012 units. The much popular Creta saw a decline in sales standing at an all-time low at 6,585 units. The SUV sweet spot was taken up by the recently launched, Venue.
