The Maruti Wagon R EV will support DC fast-charging with the help of which it can be charged up to 80% within a matter of one hour.
Maruti Suzuki is currently fleet testing its upcoming all-electric vehicle on the Indian roads. It is expected that this all-electric vehicle will make its debut in our country sometime during the year 2020. Prices for the same are likely to start from INR 7.5 lakh which will help this vehicle stand as a mass-market product.
According to a recent report, the Maruti Wagon R is going to support DC fast-charging. With the help of this, this EV can be charged up to 80% within a matter of just an hour. With standard charging, this car can be charged to full in seven hours time. The test vehicles of the Wagon EV have two charging port. The one on the front supports AC charging while the one on the back is for DC fast-charging.

Exact technical specifications of the Maruti Wagon R EV are still under the wraps. The final production-ready iteration of the Maruti Wagon R EV will be different to the one that we see on the test. That said, it is still going to be slightly different in terms of its design in comparison to the petrol power iteration.

There have been unconfirmed reports stating that the Maruti Wagon R EV will offer up to 200 km of range. And the same will be supported by the EV charging intfrastructure which is expected to kick-start in India starting from the month of March this year.
