The 2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is available with two different engine options and a choice for manual as well as AMT transmission variants.
The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R made its debut in India in its third generation iteration in India last month. The Wagon R, in general, has been a very strong product for the Indo-Japanese automaker in our country. On average, this hatchback manages a monthly sales figure of around 14,000 units. And the same is only increasing with the launch of this generation update.
According to a recent report, the current generation Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is demanding a substantial waiting period. At the moment, the waiting period for this compact hatchback stands in-between 2-3 months. In fact, that has become a common scenario for almost all Maruti Suzuki cars in the recent past.

The 2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is based on an all-new platform. This platform has helped the third generation iteration of this vehicle to increase in its overall dimensions and hence, increase the subsequent cabin space. Not only this, thanks to a stiffer construction, the 2019 Wagon R is comparitively safer in relation to the model it has replaced.
In addition to scoring better when it comes to safety, the 2019 Maruti Wagon R is also quite feature-rich in comparison to its older generation iteration. The top-spec ZXI trim now comes with steering mounted audio controls, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto Connectivity, rear parking sensors, along with day and night IRVM to name a few.

Maruti Suzuki has introduced a choice of two different engine options with the 2019 iteration of this vehicle. It continues with the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder unit from before in addition to a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder engine borrowed from the Swift. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Select variants are also available with a 5-speed AMT unit.
With prices falling in-between the range of INR 4.19 lakh to INR 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom), the Wagon R continue to compete with the likes of Hyundai Santro and the Tata Tiago.
