The Maruti Wagon R CNG is available on the LXI and the LXI (O) trims with the 1.0-litre petrol engine in manual transmission alone.
Maruti Suzuki has officially introduced the CNG powered derivative of the 2019 Wagon R in the Indian market. The factory fitted CNG kit on this compact hatchback will be available on its LXI and LXI (O) trim. The prices of these respective variants stand at INR 4.84 lakh and INR 4.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The CNG kit will be offered with the 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. The automaker claims that the Wagon R CNG will offer the best in segment 33km/kg of efficiency figure.
Since the CNG kit in the Maruti Wagon R is a factory kit, the same will be liable for the car’s standard warranty and benefit from the automaker’s widespread service network.

Introducing the new Maruti Suzuki Wagon R S-CNG, R.S. Kalsi, Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “At Maruti Suzuki, we continuously strive to offer products that are technologically advanced and environment-friendly. With Wagon R S-CNG customers will be able to enjoy the benefit of 26 per cent better fuel economy than the outgoing Wagon R CNG and superior technology which is safe, reliable and environment-friendly.”
The Maruti Wagon R CNG comes with a dual ECU and intelligent-gas port Injection technology. These help in delivering a calibrated quantity to the engine ensuring maximum efficiency. The same also helps in delivering better pick-up and enhanced drivability. The CNG fuel-tank has been located low in the vehicle which helps the car retain its dynamics. Also, the Wagon R CNG now offers an automatic fuel change switch and a fuel-level indicator.

As mentioned before, the factory fitted CNG kit is available with the 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. When running on petrol, this engine is going to churn out 67 BHP of power along with 90 Nm of peak torque. When running on CNG, this engine will deliver 58 BHP along with 78 Nm of peak torque.
For Maruti Suzuki, 15% of its total sales come from CNG variants of its cars. So far the automaker has sold more than 5 lakh CNG vehicles in the Indian market.
